This month’s blog circle continues with the theme of TRADITION.
Being that it is December and Christmastime, it was easy to get some images of our traditions this time of year. We started out our Christmas with my side of the family. We spent our “Nauck” Christmas Eve with a yummy smorgasbord of food that we eat in the living room on the coffee table. My family has been doing this since I was little. It is the best!! It has always been one of my favorite traditions of Christmas.
We then heard the Christmas story from the Jesus Storybook Bible (if you don’t have one for your kids you need to get out right now and get it… go. it is that good.) and enjoyed the Christmas lights and the gorgeous tree that my mom so painstakingly puts up perfectly each year.
We always have to work hard for that family photo that we never ever print… it is usually a debacle, but this year we got it in record time!!! The miracle? We are all (and I mean all 4 kiddos and all adults, even the baby!!!) smiling. Miracle. Christmas miracle.
After spending time with my family, we always make the trek up to Pennsylvania to see Chris’ family. This is always a fun time with potential extra joy as we pray for a good snowfall. Most years there is just rain and we just enjoy each other’s company indoors, but this year we were so pleased with around a foot of the white stuff falling during the 10 days we were there!!! It was a winter wonderland and we made the most of it in time spent playing together!!!
We loved playing with the Aunties and Uncles of the family and especially the kids loved playing with their cousins!!
Please continue the circle and head over to the talented Karen Linton and see how she views Tradition.
